Rules

GOAL

During the month of May, earn points for going by bike instead of by car when making your daily commute and running errands. Do this as many days and as many miles as possible to earn maximum points throughout May! See the POINTS section for rules on how to earn points.

TEAMS and COMPANIES

A Team Bike Challenge team consists of up to 5 individuals.

When registering a team, designate the county in which most members live.

A Company team consists only of employees that have joined the competition. Not fans, friends or relatives.

Companies will compete with other companies according to their size category, which is based on the total number of employees registered on TeamBikeChallenge.

Small Business: 1-50 Local Employees

Medium Company: 50-300 Local Employees

Large Corporation: 300+ Local Employees

POINTS

ELIGIBILITY: Points are awarded for bike trips that have a different starting and ending point. Any trip taken between 12:00am May 1st, 2015 and 11:59pm May 31st, 2015 and submitted before the deadline of June 2nd, 2015 at 11:59pm will count towards your total overall points.

HONOR CODE: All Team Bike Challenge participants are expected to enter accurate and honest data for the trips they are submitting.

REVIEW: Team Bike Challenge reserves the right to review any and all trips submitted by any and all participants for validity and eligibility. If a trip is found to be inaccurate or ineligible, Team Bike Challenge reserves the right to correct or delete that trip and adjust individual points total appropriately.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING TRIPS:

Bike Trips taken between 12:00am May 1st, 2015 and 11:59pm May 24th, 2015 must be submitted before 11:59pm on the 7th day after it was taken until June 2nd, 2015 at 11:59pm. The time a bike trip is submitted is the time recorded when the ride is successfully submitted to our web server and not the time a participant opens the webpage to begin submitting the bike trip. Once the deadline for submission has passed for a bike trip, it cannot be submitted retroactively and will not be eligible to count towards your points or medals. So make sure to record your rides regularly.

EXAMPLE: if you take a bike trip on May 4th, 2015, you have until 11:59pm May 11th, 2015 to record that trip on our website. After 11:59pm on May 11th, 2015, that ride may not be submitted.

Bike trips taken between 12:00am May 25th, 2015, and 11:59pm May 31st, 2015, must be submitted by 11:59pm on June 2nd, 2015. No bike trip submissions will be accepted after the 11:59pm June 2nd, 2015, deadline.

DAILY MILEAGE POINTS: For each day a participant has recorded one or more eligible bike trips for the duration of the competition, they will receive points based on the total mileage for eligible bike trips taken that day. More miles per day = more points per day!

1 point : 0 to 10 miles

2 points : 10 to 20 miles

3 points : 20 + miles
