GOAL

Earn the most team points by commuting by bike for as many days and as many miles as possible in May. See the POINTS section for rules on how to earn points.

TEAMS and COMPANIES

A Team Bike Challenge Team consists of 1-5 people

Team leaders should set the county of the team to the county where most of the team members live.

A Company is made up of all the employees (not fans, friends or relatives) that join the competition.

Companies will compete in different size categories, based on the total number of employees at that site.

Small Business (1-50 Local Emp)

Medium Company (50-300 Local Emp)

Large Corporation (300+ Local Emp)

POINTS

ELIGIBILITY: Points are awarded for bike trips that have a different start and end point taken any time between 12:00am May 1st, 2013 and 11:59pm May 31st, 2013 and submitted before the deadline of June 1, 2013 at 11:59pm.

HONOR CODE: All Team Bike Challenge participants are expected to input accurate and honest data for the trips they submit to the competition.

REVIEW: Team Bike Challenge reserves the right to review any and all trips submitted by any and all participants for validity (Did the trip happen? Was it the length input by the participant?) and eligibility (should it count towards the competition). If a trip is found to be inaccurate or ineligible, Team Bike Challenge reserves the right to correct or delete that trip and adjust the participants points total appropriately.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING TRIPS:

Bike Trips taken between 12:00am May 1st, 2013 and 11:59pm May 24th, 2013 must be submitted before 11:59pm on the 7th day after it was taken. The time a bike trip is submitted is the time recorded when the ride is successfully submitted to our web server and not the time a participant opens the webpage to begin submitting the bike trip. Once the deadline for submission has passed for a bike trip, it can not be submitted and will not be eligible to count towards your points or medals so make sure to record your rides regularly.

EXAMPLE: if you take a bike trip on May 4th, 2013, you have until 11:59pm May 11th, 2013 to record that trip on our website. After 11:59pm on May 11th, 2013, that ride can not be submitted.

Bike trips taken between 12:00am May 25th, 2013, and 11:59pm May 31st, 2013, must be submitted by 11:59pm on June 1st, 2013. No bike trip submissions will be accepted after the 11:59pm June 1st, 2013, deadline.

DAILY MILEAGE POINTS: For each day a participant has recorded at least one eligible bike trip for during the month of May, they will also receive points based on the total miles from all eligible bike trips taken that day.

1 point : 0 to 10 miles

2 points : 10 to 20 miles

3 points : 20 + miles

WINNERS and PRIZES

Team Bike Challenge Winners will be determined by the total points earned by all the members of that team.

Company Bike Challenge Winners will be determined by the total points earned by all members of their company.

In the case that two teams or two companies have earned the same points, the team or company with the most total eligible miles biked by all its participants will be the winner.

The team with the second most points overall will receive

The team with the third most points in each county will receive

County 3rd place Certificates for each Team Member

The team with the second most points overall will receive

Regional 2nd place Certificates for each Team Member

The team with the third most points in each county will receive

Regional 3rd place Certificates for each Team Member

COMPANY BIKE CHALLENGE WINNERS

Prizes will be awarded for each category of company
